The Long Hiatus

Hey DMCF Fans!

Wanted to get you all an update as it will likely be the last one for a VERY long time. As you may have already guessed I’ll be pushing future film projects on to the shelf pretty much indefinitely. While I still would call myself a writer and director, I just don’t have the time that I used to, to make short films. In 2017 I’ll be moving and focusing any free time I have to the YouTube Channel and namely my visual art which has become the channel’s dominant focus. So for the time being DMC Films as a whole is hibernating. For how long? That’s a good question, and not one I have an answer to. Ideally I’d love to be back in about 2-3 years,¬† but in all likelihood it will be closer to 5 years. I know it seems like a long time, but as a comparison I’ve been doing dedicated art content on the channel for well over 5 years already, and it still seems like just yesterday I decided to do weekly content.

As you’ve seen on the “Upcoming Projects” page, I always have ideas for films, the problem is finding the time, the cast, and the resources to make them…which as of right now I have none of those things. 5 years down the road this may change, but for now I just have to call it quits. My films have aged pretty horribly and for me to come back now would only make things worse. I need to get back to my roots of telling stories on paper FIRST before I get back to working on films.

I want to thank all of you for your support over the years and your continued support going forward. It saddens me deeply to have to step away from filmmaking, but it’s just what I have to do right now.¬†This site will remain online as long as I can keep it up financially, so be sure to use it as a way to find your favorite projects! Just remember, that I’ll be back stronger than ever when I do finally return.
